Milana Gorenstein Unveils Commemorative Exhibition "ART is Watching You" on International Artist Day, December 8, 2023
Celebrating the spirit of creativity and artistic resilience, Milana Gorenstein announces the unveiling of a momentous exhibition, "ART is Watching You," to mark International Artist Day on December 8, 2023. This exhibition not only commemorates the global celebration of artistic expression but also holds profound significance for Milana's journey in the world of art.
Nine years ago, on the same date in 2014, Milana Gorenstein embarked on her remarkable artistic voyage at the exhibition and charity event of the collective intuitive painting titled "Line of Contact" in Nagorno-Karabakh. This pivotal moment served as the genesis of her illustrious career, igniting her passion for creating and sharing art with the world.
However, the significance of this exhibition goes beyond the celebration of artistic milestones. The original paintings from the nascent phase of Milana's career, housed at the House Museum in Nagorno-Karabakh, face an uncertain fate due to the recent conflicts. Despite numerous inquiries made to various esteemed organizations, including the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Azerbaijan, ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross), UNESCO, Ministries of Culture of Azerbaijan and Armenia, ICOM (International Council of Museums), ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property), Blue Shield International, and others, the fate of these invaluable artworks remains unresolved. Consequently, the current exhibition stands as the sole sanctuary where art enthusiasts can witness the photos and reproductions of these original paintings.
In a noble gesture of preservation and philanthropy, Milana Gorenstein pledges to donate her collection of early paintings, alongside her latest creations, to establish the ARTNOTE Museum and Art Healing Center. Under the auspices of the Planetary Health Organization (PHO), this visionary endeavor aims to foster healing through art and create a haven for artistic expression.
Speaking about the exhibition and its purpose, Milana shared, "Art has the power to heal, unite, and inspire. Through this exhibition and the establishment of the ARTNOTE Museum and Art Healing Center, I hope to create a legacy that transcends borders and contributes to the healing of people and our planet."
All proceeds generated from the "ART is Watching You" exhibition will be donated to the Planetary Health Organization to bolster its critical medical and urgent humanitarian programs, extending a lifeline to those in need across the globe.
The exhibition will take place online and will feature a captivating array of Milana's early and recent artworks, offering visitors an immersive experience into the evolution of her artistic journey.
Join us in celebrating art, resilience, and the spirit of giving on December 8, 2023, at "ART is Watching You."
